Green Minds Together (GMT)
ESC-HUMAID-2025-VOLUN
Green Minds Together (GMT) is an ongoing initiative within the European Solidarity Corps that empowers young people through inclusive, sustainable, and innovative activities. Aligned with the EU Youth Strategy and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the project promotes employability, active citizenship, environmental responsibility, and digital innovation through transnational cooperation.
The project is structured around four interconnected areas of action.
-
“Bridge the Gap” focuses on non-formal education and skill development for marginalized youth, including women, rural communities, and indigenous groups, supporting access to quality education, gender equality, and reduced inequalities.
-
“Activates the Potential” encourages youth participation in democratic processes and civic life through volunteering and youth-led initiatives, fostering European values, solidarity, and inclusive governance.
-
“Nature Advocates” engages participants in climate action, circular economy practices, and community greening, contributing to environmental sustainability and resilience.
-
“Digi-Pact” integrates digital tools to enhance storytelling, visibility, and innovation, while strengthening communication, digital skills, and international collaboration.
The project will involve 22 volunteers participating in mobilities of five to twelve months across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ecuador, Vietnam, and Nepal, in cooperation with partners from Türkiye, France, Romania, and Spain. Through these activities, GMT fosters cross-cultural learning and creates meaningful, long-term impact in communities.
Volunteering for unity (UNITY)
ESC-HUMAID-2025-VOLUN-101250675
14/09/2024 - 14/09/2026
Financed by the European Comission, through the European Solidarity Corps – Humanitarian Aid program
The project aims to diminish the educational gap of disadvantaged children and youth from Vietnam and Thailand poorer and at-risk regions, while bringing front and center at the same time the discussion of gender equality. The method of approach is that of peer-to-peer support in education, starting from the example of the international volunteers’ actions, that later will be translated to the local youth, becoming a snowball effect of active involvement and solidarity among youth and furthermore among community members.
The project pursues several specific objectives.
-
It seeks to capacitate 40 volunteers with the competencies needed to actively engage in their sending communities and contribute to addressing the educational needs of disadvantaged children and youth.
-
In the hosting communities, it aims to capacitate 15 volunteers per community to work directly with local youth through peer-to-peer educational support methods, strengthening community-based learning initiatives.
-
In parallel, UNITY works with 100 children per hosting community, equipping them with language, digital, and soft skills to support their educational development, reduce school dropout rates, and improve their opportunities on the labour market.
-
Beyond direct educational activities, the project contributes to building a network of prepared NGOs capable of addressing educational inequalities through the EQUIP approach, with a particular focus on supporting girls and young women in accessing quality education.
-
Additionally, UNITY aims to raise awareness by 25% on the importance of community involvement in ensuring quality education and reducing gender disparities in access to education and future employment opportunities.
