The BEYOU project is in full swing as young leaders from Italy, Greece, Spain, Romania, and
Cyprus actively implement their youth-led community projects. Following successful local
training courses, these individuals, aged 16 to 25, are making a tangible impact on their
communities.
The essence of BEYOU lies in promoting social responsibility and innovation driven by the
energy of younger generations. The selected candidates, four from each country, have
undergone training in project management, social generativity, sustainability, and social
innovation.
Currently, 20 youth-led community projects are underway, with participants gaining handson experience in leadership, resource mobilization, and project administration. Each
project, lasting between two to three months, addresses local needs, emphasizing
inclusiveness, sustainability, and active citizenship.
Looking forward, a transnational final workshop in Greece in May 2024 will facilitate peer
learning, allowing these young leaders to share experiences and discuss how to amplify
project impacts at the EU level. Their roles extend beyond project implementation; they are
actively engaging duty bearers, stakeholders, policymakers, and the local community to
raise awareness about youth participation and sustainable development.
The BEYOU project is not only shaping the personal growth of young leaders but is also
contributing significantly to inclusive and sustainable community development. Stay tuned
for more updates on the positive impact these initiatives will have on our communities.
